George Chiampas
ER/Orthopedics

Dr. Chiampas is an Assistant Professor and Attending Physician in the Department of Emergency Medicine and the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University and Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Dr. Chiampas has supported the Bank of America Chicago Marathon and Shamrock Shuffle as Medical Director and currently serves on the Board of the International Institute for Race Medicine. Dr. Chiampas was appointed as Chief Medical Officer for the U.S. Soccer Federation in 2014, has been the Team Physician for the Chicago Blackhawks since 2013, serves on Gatorade’s Sports Science Institute’s speakers panel and is a board member for FIFA’s Medical Advisory Board. Dr. Chiampas has published numerous scientific papers and chapters, is often sought as a source expert for news outlets nationwide and has lectured widely at academic conferences and scientific meetings around the globe.

Louis Hiotis
Primary Care

Dr. Louis Hiotis’ career spans nearly 20 years of specializing in internal medicine and pediatrics. Dr. Hiotis has been a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at Northwestern Feinberg School of Medicine since 2008. Since 2016, he has served as the Team Physician for the Chicago Blackhawks. Previously, Dr. Hiotis was the Internal Resident Clinic Preceptor for Northwestern’s Internal Medicine Program and completed a combined residency in Internal Medicine & Pediatrics at Chicago’s University of Illinois Hospital. In 2019, Dr. Hiotis launched his concierge medical practice.

Michael Terry
Orthopedic Surgeon

Dr. Michael Terry has been a leading specialist in Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine for nearly 20 years. Dr. Terry is a Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine and also serves as the Head Team Physician for both the Chicago Blackhawks and the USA Volleyball Team. Dr. Terry is certified in Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Surgery by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery. Among several accolades, Dr. Terry has been awarded the Teaching Award by the Feinberg School of Medicine; named to the Team Physician Society Research Committee by the National Hockey League; honored with the Charles Neer Award for Shoulder Research by The American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery; and named one of the Best Doctors in Sports Medicine by Chicago magazine.

Douglas E. Vaughan
Cardiology/Longevity

Dr. Vaughan is the Irving S. Cutter Professor and chair of the Department of Medicine at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago, Illinois. He received his M.D. from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas and completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Parkland Memorial Hospital/Veterans Administration Medical Center, also in Dallas. He subsequently undertook a fellowship in cardiology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, and has been elected to membership in the American Society for Clinical Investigation and the Association of American Physicians. As a principal clinical investigator, Dr. Vaughan’s work ranges from the bench to the bedside. His efforts and findings in vascular biology include basic investigations into the regulation of gene expression, genetic models of disease, mechanistic studies in humans, and clinical trials. His primary research interests are in the mammalian plasminogen activator system and the role it plays in cardiovascular disease and physiological aging.

Neil T. Peters
Dermatologist

Neill T. Peters, MD is a board-certified dermatologist and Clinical Instructor of Dermatology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. Dr. Peters completed both his undergraduate and medical school training at the University of Michigan. He received the William B. Taylor Senior Medical Student Award for Excellence in Dermatology. After completing a preliminary year of training in Internal Medicine at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, he returned to the University of Michigan for his Dermatology training. He was selected as the Chief Resident and served as the Melanoma Fellow in the Multidisciplinary Melanoma clinic in the final year of his residency. He received the Duncan O. Poth Award for Excellence in Dermatologic Research.

Originally from Michigan, Dr. Peters is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology. He has received multiple teaching awards and received the Founders Award from the Chicago Dermatological Society recognizing Excellence in Clinical Dermatology and Teaching in 2009. He was ranked by US News and World Report as a Top Dermatologist in Chicago in 2012. He has been cited in Consumer Checkpoint magazine as one of Chicago’s Top Dermatologists. Top Tier MD has also recognized Dr. Peters as one of the highest rated Dermatologists in Chicago.

Dr. Peters’ clinical interests include non-invasive skin rejuvenation and the management of acne, eczema, psoriasis, pregnancy-related dermatoses, and autoimmune diseases. Dr. Peters has a special interest in skin cancer screening, prevention, and management.

Nutrition

Our Doctor of Naturopathy and Nutrition will explore nutritional habits that appreciate the uniqueness of each person. By working with the body’s wisdom and the relationship between individual and consumption, this process will evaluate a deeper level of nutrition, supplementation and overall health.

Functional Mobility & Movement

The Functional Movement Screen will assess movement patterns and mobility. This screening tool identifies limitations and asymmetries to prevent injuries and optimize your movements in everyday life.If pain or injury is identified, an extensive musculoskeletal physical exam will be performed.

Dermatology

Comprehensive skin examination including dermoscopic evaluation of pigmented lesions. We’ll discuss risk factors for skin cancer and review dietary supplements that may improve skin and overall health. Then we’ll review preventative sun protection strategies.

MARCIE CLAYBON, MD

Medical Director

Dr. Marcie Claybon, MD is a board-certified Internal Medicine physician who comes to BIÂN with an authentic passion for holistic health, preventive care, and wellness. Her professional background includes work in both the outpatient primary care and in-hospital academic settings. Prior to joining BIAN, she worked as an internist at Northwestern Memorial Hospital here in Chicago and previously at Tufts Medical Center in Boston. She is a graduate of The Ohio State University College of Medicine (2008) and completed her Internal Medicine residency at Tufts Medical Center in 2011.

She has notably been designated an “Illinois Top Doc” since 2019. Dr. Claybon strives to combine her training and expertise in traditional, western-based medicine with the integrative and Eastern-inspired services offered at BIÂN to create a superior member experience. Outside of work, her interests include live music, world travel, food & wine, fitness, and spending time with friends, family, and her French Bulldog Jax.

ANGELO COSTAS, MD

Chief Medical Officer

BIÂN Medical is overseen by our Chief Medical Officer, Angelo Costas, MD, in consultation with our Medical Advisory Board. Dr. Costas is one of Chicago’s leading practitioners of internal medicine and the Chief Internist for the Chicago Blackhawks. Dr. Costas is a pioneer in concierge medicine who established his own practice after identifying a need for a personalized, non-rushed and more accessible approach to patient care. He brings these philosophies and more to BIÂN as Chief Medical Officer. Dr. Costas and his team work cohesively with BIÂN’s fitness team and Eastern wellness specialists to ensure seamless communication, collaboration and optimal results at every stage of each member’s health journey. In addition, Dr. Costas leads BIÂN’s Medical Advisory Board to present the most responsibly innovative, advanced care available across multiple disciplines. Among several professional affiliations, he is President of the Northwestern Health Care Corporation, an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine at Northwestern University Medical School and a fellow of the American College of Physicians.
